CALLED TO ACT

Although I was born and raised in South Dakota, I’ve felt a connection to Minnesota since my childhood. I fell in love with paddling on a trip to the Boundary Waters with my dad at age 12. Upon graduating college in 2006, I moved to Minnesota where I continued to pursue my passion for paddling, discovering over 4,500 miles of water trails throughout the state. In 2016 I had the opportunity to paddle the length of the Mississippi River from source to sea. It was on that journey that I decided to pursue a goal of paddling the entirety of Minnesota’s 34 state water trails. Shortly thereafter, prompted by Governor Dayton’s call for a year of water action, Paddle for Progress was conceived.
